Meet Dr. Kenneth S. Trump
Kenneth S. Trump is the President of National School Safety and Security Services and a lifelong preK–12 school security professional. For more than four decades, “Dr. Ken” has dedicated his career to helping schools nationwide strengthen safety, security, and crisis preparedness.
Ken works closely with superintendents, school boards, and attorneys to assess security risks, evaluate emergency preparedness, and provide litigation-focused expert witness services. He has led a team of nationally recognized experts in school safety, security, and emergency planning, making him one of the most trusted authorities in the field.
A frequent speaker at education and safety conferences, Ken shares practical strategies that support school leaders in preventing violence and preparing for emergencies. He has authored 3 books and more than 450 professional articles on school safety.
Ken earned his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from the Johns Hopkins University School of Education, where his research explored how school administrators navigate crisis leadership and safety communications in highly uncertain contexts.
